Epic of Esther: Haman or Esther

January 22, 2012

Esther 5:9-7

The villainous Haman erects gallows in preparation to hang Mordecai, Esther’s beloved cousin, while Esther tries to find the courage to ask the king to save her people.  After enduring a humiliating march through the city, Haman is rushed off to a private dinner with the king and queen.  The epic of Esther climaxes as Haman’s evil, self-serving plot is fully revealed while faithful Esther divulges a secret she’s kept from her husband for years.  Ultimately, like Haman and Esther, we must choose who we are in life.  Are you Haman or Esther?
