Acts 6:8-15, 7:54-8:4
The church in Acts was successful and thriving, healthy and full of Godly fellowship. They were seeing lives changed, people saved and the Spirit of God was moving miraculously among them. Little did they know that it wasn’t going to last forever. In fact, after one of their beloved deacons is stoned for professing faith in Jesus, the church is persecuted and scatters quickly. How could God let this happen? As we search for answers, we remember the words of Jesus in Acts chapter 1. There we find not only comfort and hope, but a challenge in that even through the toughest of circumstances God’s will is still being done.
